After the release of the demo recording Leaving Hollywood , the label Accession Records expressed interest and Adrian Hates ( Diary of Dreams ) could be won as producer for the debut album Pale , which was released in 1999. In 2000 Diorama went on tour as the opening act for Diary of Dreams and Wendt limited himself to accompanying the pieces exclusively on the piano. In the following year the album her liquid arms was released, which differed significantly from the first album due to the electronic orientation. The album reached the top ten of the German alternative charts; Felix Marc joined the band as a co-producer and singer.

The first collaboration with bassist Bernhard le Sigue was the album the art of creating confusing spirits in 2002 . At the end of the year, the band again toured Germany and Europe with Diary of Dreams . In 2003, Sascha Judt ("Sash Fiddler"), who had previously worked with Bernard le Sigue, joined the band as a fourth member.

In April 2005 Diorama released the fourth album amaroid and a few months later repale , a compilation of various remixes from earlier albums as well as previously unreleased songs. In October 2006 the band announced the departure of Bernard le Sigue; Reasons were not given.

After some remix work, e.g. B. for daVOS ( What I prefer ) or Frozen Plasma ( Hypocrite ), a sampler contribution to Accession Records - Sampler Vol. 3 ( The pulse of life ) and a collaboration with 'Painbastard ( Torn ), the band released the album a different in 2007 life . This was followed by the albums Cubed (2010), Even the Devil Doesn't Care (2013) and Zero Soldier Army (2016). In the same year the band celebrated their 20th anniversary.

In the 20 years of the band's history, Diorama has played over 200 live concerts in over 20 countries.
