Adrian Hates (born January 17, 1973 in Düsseldorf ) is the founder, head, singer, composer and producer of the music group Diary of Dreams .

Life

At the age of nine, Hates began learning to play the classical guitar. Through his parents he also came into contact with the music of composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven , whose moonlight sonata is still one of his favorite compositions, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi . At the age of 15 he discovered keyboard instruments for himself in New York , where he lived with an extended family for a year and a half, and, like the children who lived there, took piano lessons. The school lessons, in which he had to write freely, "helped him a lot, especially with regard to creativity", according to his own statements. After his return to Germany he felt “the desire to further implement my thoughts and feelings, to realize them and suddenly found myself in this crazy bunch of musicians”. In 1989 he founded the project Diary of Dreams with Alistair Kane, and from 1992 to 1997 he was bassist for the German gothic rock band Garden of Delight .
