Fuagea (also: Fuakea ) is an island of Tuvalu in the southwestern part of the atoll of Funafuti .

Fuagea is part of the Funafuti Conservation Area , which was founded in 1996 to protect the special fauna and flora of the area. These include Lepidodactylus tepukapili , a type of gecko that has so far only been found on Fuagea and the nearby Tepuka .
