Fulica infelix is a fossil rallen species from the coot genus. It is only known from the holotype , which consists of the distal end of the left tibiotarsus . The material was discovered in the Juntura rock formation in Malheur County , Oregon , and is now housed in the University of Oregon's Natural HistoryMuseum.

Fulica infelix was smaller than the recent American coot . The species lived in the Zancleum of North America 5.3 to 3.6 million years ago.

The type epithet is derived from the Latin word "infelix" (unhappy), which in turn is an allusion to the French word "malheur" (misfortune) in the name of the type locality Malheur County.
