The Fundação Fernando Leite Couto , in English "Fernando Leite Couto Foundation", is a foundation and cultural center in the Mozambican capital Maputo . The foundation, founded in 2015, is named after the Portuguese-Mozambican writer Fernando Leite Couto and is located on Avenida Kim-Il Sung 961 in the Sommerschield district in a residential building designed by Pancho Guedes .

In 2015, Mia Couto , one of Mozambique's most famous writers, founded the Fundação Fernando Leite Couto with the aim of promoting the art, culture and literature of Mozambique and giving it a space in the Mozambican capital, Maputo. The house was opened on April 15, 2015 by the namesake's three children, Fernando Leite Couto, Mia, Fernando Amado and Armando Jorge. In addition to a diverse monthly range of events, the foundation also plans to award prizes and grants and, in particular, to promote new and young authors.

In addition to a library and a small café, the foundation is mainly used for events - concerts, readings, exhibitions. Numerous artists, musicians and photographers have already performed on the premises of the foundation. Mia Couto also presented his new releases in the rooms. In the meantime, the Fundação Fernando Leite Couto has developed into one of the most important cultural spaces in the Mozambican capital.
