The Fundaziun Capauliana ( Rhaeto-Romanic for "Capaulsche Foundation") is a Graubünden collection of images and cultural-historical documents from Graubünden. It was compiled by the lawyer Duri Capaul- Hunkeler (born May 22, 1923 in Lumbrein in Val Lumnezia , † July 26, 2009) and his wife Claire Capaul-Hunkeler († May 26, 2010).

Foundation, endowment

The legal form of the foundation has existed since December 17, 1986. It is domiciled at Rheinfelsstrasse 1 in Chur . The foundation deed states the purpose of the foundation (renewed in 2001): "Preservation, expansion and development of the collective goods that the country and people of Graubünden shows, especially in the context of the performing arts and graphics".

archive

The heart of the foundation is the "Bündner Bildarchiv". This comprises an inventory of a total of 28,000 objects, including 6,000 original pictures (oil paintings, drawings and watercolors), 6,000 graphics, 15,000 historical postcards, maps, photographs and posters from five centuries.
