Funky , civil: Luis Marrero , (born January 23, 1974 in San Juan , Puerto Rico ) is a Mexican-American musician and representative of Christian reggaeton .

Life

Marrero grew up in Mexico and lived in New Orleans . In 1995 Marrero decided to become a musician, he went back to San Juan with his longtime friend Vico C and tried to get a record deal there. The two failed at the reggaeton labels. In 1997 they recorded a demo together which gave them a record deal with Universal . In 1999 Funky released his debut album called Funkytown . Then he opened his own label Funkytown Music in the same year .
