Gábor Klaniczay
Gábor Klaniczay (born July 18, 1950 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian historian .
Life
He studied history, medieval studies and English philology at the Eötvös Loránd University . Since 1993 he has been Professor of Medieval Studies at the Central European University .
He conducted research on historical anthropology and the historical uses of heresy, holiness, visions, stigma, magic and witchcraft.
In 2018 Klaniczay was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
