Gérald Tenenbaum

Gérald Tenenbaum (born April 1, 1952 in Nancy ) is a French mathematician and writer.

Tenenbaum studied at the École polytechnique , received his doctorate in 1978 under Jean-Marc Deshouillers and has been a professor at the University of Nancy I (Henri Poincaré) since 1981 , where he is at the Élie Cartan Institute.

As a mathematician, he deals with analytical and probabilistic number theory . He published with Paul Erdős , among others .

In 1976 he received the Prix Gaston Julia, 1985 the Albert Châtelet Medal and in 1999 with Michel Mendès France the Prix ​​Paul Doistau-Émile Blutet de l'Information Scientifique of the Académie des sciences.

His novel L'Ordre des jours (éditions Héloïse d'Ormesson 2008) received the Prix Erckmann-Chatrian in 2008.
