Gérard Rabaey
Gérard Rabaey (born January 6, 1948 in Caen ) is a French chef who has lived in Switzerland since the 1970s.
Life
In the 1970s he took over the Mon Moulin restaurant in Charrat , Switzerland. In 1978 he and his wife opened the Auberge de Veytaux restaurant near Montreux .
In 1980 the couple bought a shabby hotel in Brent, 200 meters above Montreux. Here he opened the restaurant Le Pont de Brent , which was soon awarded a Michelin star .
In 1998 the restaurant received three stars in the Michelin Guide. In the same year he published his first book Le Pont des délices and took part in the cooking show L'école des chefs on Swiss television.
On March 23, 2010 he announced that he would retire at the end of 2010 after more than 30 years of service. He handed the restaurant over to Stéphane Décotterd , with whom he had worked for over 10 years.
In March 2018 he returned to his former place of work for two days to cook with his successor.
