Gerard Roosen

Gérard Roosen (* 1869 in Leuven , † 1935 in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert / Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe ) was a Belgian painter .

Life

Roosen began as a draftsman and engraver, but did not turn to painting until 1920. His preferred motifs were still lifes with flowers, landscapes and some female nudes in the late Impressionist style .

The artist studied at the art academies in Leuven and Brussels . He was a student of the Dutch painter Jean Laudy .
