Géza Ekecs

Géza Ekecs (full name Géza László Ekecs , known under the name László Cseke , the name Ekecs reversed) (born March 24, 1927 in Budapest ; † November 13, 2017 ) was a Hungarian journalist and radio reporter.

Ekecs came from a family of actors. After graduating from high school in 1946, he worked as a journalist for Kossuth Népe and later Hazánk. He fled to Germany in 1949 and later went to Paris . He published in the emigration press, among others in Látóhatár. From December 1951 to March 1992 he worked for the radio station Radio Free Europe in Munich and with his music programs he gained legendary popularity (especially in the 1960s and 1970s) in Hungary and shaped the musical taste of the Hungarian youth. He lived in Munich as a pensioner.
