Götz Trenkler

Götz Trenkler (born July 14, 1943 ) is a retired professor of statistics and econometrics at the Technical University of Dortmund .

Life

Trenkler studied chemistry from 1962 to 1965 and mathematics from 1965 to 1970 at the Free University of Berlin. Since 1983 he has been professor of econometrics at the University of Dortmund. Until 2010 he was the coordinating editor of the journal Statistical Papers .

His 1996 book Lexicon of Popular Errors (co-author with Walter Krämer ) became famous . It sparked a wave of more fallacy dictionaries .
