Götz van Ooyen

Götz van Ooyen (* 1969 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German actor and director .

Life

Götz van Ooyen studied acting at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum from 1990 to 1994 and made his debut in 1992 as Ian Brady in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Preparadise Sorry Now at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . After completing his training, he went to the Bielefeld Theater for three years and was honored there in 1996 as the best young actor. From 1997 to 2009 he was part of the ensemble of the Braunschweig State Theater , where he could be seen as Hamlet , Macbeth (Shakespeare) , Clavigo and Goethe's Faust, among others. In 2003 he received the advancement award for young theater artists in Braunschweig. From 2009 to 2011 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Lübeck . From 2011 to 2015 he lived as a freelance actor in Berlin, worked on various stages in Germany and Switzerland and made productions with the theater collective Mass und Fieber . In the summer of 2015 he became a permanent member of the drama ensemble of the Braunschweig State Theater

In addition to his work as an actor and singer, he also directed, including the stage versions of Alessandro Baricco's Novecento and The Artificial Silk Girl by Irmgard Keun at the Braunschweig State Theater. He works as a speaker for radio play and audio book productions as well as image and documentary films and designs readings and recitals. He regularly gives concerts throughout Germany with the Comedian Harmonists in Concert .
