Günter Debus

Günter Debus (born September 1, 1939 in Gönnern , Marburg-Biedenkopf district ) is a German psychologist.

Life

Günter Debus studied psychology at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Free University of Berlin (FU) from 1960 to 1965.

From 1965 he was a research assistant, initially at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen , and from 1971 at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . He obtained his doctorate in 1969 in Gießen. rer. nat. via the methodology of the description of the state of mind. In 1976, he completed his habilitation in Düsseldorf with a thesis on the dependence of the temporary threshold shift (TTS) on central factors (emotion, attention, activation).

From 1978 until his retirement in 2004 he was Professor of Psychology at RWTH Aachen University . There he was Vice Dean from 1992 to 1994 and Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy from 1994 to 1996.
