Günter Felske

Günter Felske (born February 2, 1924 , † around 1993) was a German table tennis player . He became German champion in doubles in 1950.

Career

Felske mainly used his strong forehand. He lived in Berlin. After his return from captivity in early 1949, he started playing table tennis again. In 1952 and 1954 he won the Berlin championship in doubles with Wolfgang Peters. After the Second World War he played for Tennis Borussia , with whose men's team he was champions Oberliga Nord in the 1952/53 and 1953/54 seasons. At the National German Championships in Rheydt in 1950 he won the doubles title with Heinz Raack .

In 1957 he suffered a vertebral fracture in a car accident, which forced him to take a break from playing. Subsequently he worked as a trainer in the table tennis division of the Free University . From autumn 1963 to 1968 he played at Hertha BSC and was also a coach there. At the end of the 1980s he left Hertha BSC.

Trivia

Felske's first name is often written as Günther (with "h"). The correct spelling is unclear.
