Günter Kalinowski

Günter Kalinowski (born December 11, 1921 in Gladbeck ; † December 24, 1971 ) was a German SPD politician .

education and profession

Günter Kalinowski attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and then worked as a bricklayer and later as a miner.

politics

Günter Kalinowski was a member of IG Chemie from 1948 to 1951 and of IG Mining and Energy from 1951. From 1965 to 1971 he acted as chairman of the Recklinghausen sub-district and member of the district executive committee of the SPD Western Westphalia. He was the city councilor of Gladbeck from 1956 to 1971. In Gladbeck he was mayor from 1961 to 1965 and from 1965 to April 1971 mayor .

In March 1971, Kalinowski was accused of being involved in illegal private real estate deals. The SPD city association asked him to resign as Lord Mayor. He was also forced to leave the SPD faction in his hometown. An investigative committee set up by the state parliament finally rehabilitated Kalinowski in 1971.

Günter Kalinowski was from July 21, 1962 until his death on December 24, 1971 directly elected member of the 5th , 6th and 7th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 094 Gladbeck and for the constituency 097 Gladbeck.
