Günter Kenesei (born March 27, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician. Kenesei has been a member of the Vienna state parliament and municipal council since 1991 and moved from the ( Greens ) to the ÖVP's list as an independent in 2005 .

education and profession

Günter Kenesei was born in Favoriten and attended business school. From 1976 he worked as a clerk at Kapsch in order accounting and data radio sales. In 1999 he founded a company that imports and distributes Garman sporting goods.

politics

Günter Kenesei came to the Vienna Greens on the train to occupy the Hainburger Au . He was a works council and district councilor in Favoriten. In 1991 he moved to the Vienna state parliament and local council as a member of the Greens. From 1993 he worked in the control committee and headed it between 1996 and 2001. Kenesei was no longer allowed to run for candidacy in the internal list elections in 2005. Since he had already been in his position for more than two terms, he would have required the approval of two thirds of the electorate to be allowed to vote on the list. However, Kenesei did not receive this. Kenesei subsequently moved to a list of the ÖVP Vienna as an “independent”.

Private

Günter Kenesei is married and has a son and a deceased daughter from his first marriage and two stepchildren in his second marriage. He has been president of the KSV Ankerbrot Montelaa football club since 1998 .
