Günter Kraft

Günter Kraft (born February 11, 1972 in Stockerau ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and machinist (mechanical engineer). Kraft was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 2010 to 2015 .

education and profession

Between 1987 and 1991, Kraft completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter (mechanical engineering technician) at Heid AG in Stockerau. In 1993, Kraft moved to the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Lower Austria (AK NÖ). He was initially employed at the Vienna headquarters in the apprentice and youth protection department and in 1993 attended the works council academy of AK Lower Austria. After that he was a consultant for apprentices and youth protection as well as labor and social law in the Tulln district office until 2002, before becoming head of the Tulln district office in 2003. From 2010 to March 2015, Kraft worked in the company support and youth projects department at AKNÖ. In May 2015 he took over the management of the AKNÖ district office in Tulln.

politics

Kraft worked as a councilor for the Großmugl market town between 1995 and 2000 and became a member of the Tulln township council in November 1999. Between November 2002 and December 2008 he was also city councilor in Tulln and parliamentary group spokesman for the SPÖ local council group. Kraft has been a local councilor in Tulln again since 2008; he was also a member of the SPÖ city committee and a member of the SPÖ district board. After Helmut Cerwenka waived his mandate, Kraft moved up as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament on April 22, 2010. In September 2010 Günter Kraft was elected chairman of the SPÖ in the Tulln district. From 2011 to 2013, Kraft was Deputy Mayor of the municipality of Tulln on the Danube. Hubert Herzog succeeded Kraft as Vice Mayor and Kraft was still a member of the Tulln municipal council. From 2011 to May 2015 Günter Kraft was chairman of the SPÖ city organization Tulln an der Donau. In the SPÖ state parliament club, Kraft was the spokesman for employee issues. In addition to the role of spokesman for employee issues in the SPÖ Landtag Club, Kraft devoted himself to the issues of the Tulln district in his political work. After the municipal council election in 2015, Günter Kraft was no longer a member of the Tulln municipal council. In April 2015, Kraft left the Lower Austrian state parliament. Doris Hahn succeeded Günter Kraft in the Lower Austrian state parliament and Heimo Stopper took over the chairmanship of the SPÖ of the Tulln district.

Volunteering and representation of interests

Kraft did volunteer work in various social and political interest groups. Since 2012 he has been chairing the Volkshilfe Regionalverein Tulln Stadt. He is chairman of the ARBÖ local club in Tulln. As part of the union's interest representation, Kraft exercised the function of deputy chairman in Section 21 (chambers and corporations) of the public service union until he was replaced by Herbert Grurl in 2016.

Private

He grew up in Großmugl , lives in Tulln on the Danube and has a son.
