Helmut Cerwenka

Helmut Cerwenka (born July 24, 1952 in Krems an der Donau ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and elementary school director. Cerwenka was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 1994 to 1995 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1995 to 2010 .

Life

Cerwenka attended the Piaristengymnasium Krems and the music-pedagogical Bundesrealgymnasium Krems on the Danube and graduated in 1976 as a teacher for special schools. His teaching activity began in 1973 at the Hohenwarth-Mühlbach elementary school on Manhartsberg , then at schools in Großweikersdorf , and since 2004 as director at the Absdorf elementary school .

Politically, Cerwenka became the managing council of the market town of Königsbrunn am Wagram in 1990 and chairman of the SPÖ in the Tulln district in 1993 . He represented the SPÖ Lower Austria between March 17, 1994 and June 28, 1995 in the Federal Council and was sworn in as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament on June 26, 1995. Between 2008 and 2010 he held the function of SPÖ club chairman, but he had to announce his retirement from state politics in March 2010 for health reasons, whereupon he left the state parliament on April 22, 2010.
