Günter Pumpel Kubisch (born April 3, 1939 in Magdeburg ; † June 21, 2005 ) was a German football player.

At the age of 10, Kubisch began his career at SG Eintracht Sudenburg, a predecessor club of 1. FC Magdeburg . He went through all the youth departments of the club and made his debut in the 1st team on June 29, 1957 at the game Motor Mitte Magdeburg against Wismut Gera. Between 1957 and 1971 he played 326 league games, 29 cup games and 13 European cup games for the club and its predecessors, scoring 42 goals for the club. He was able to celebrate a total of three national cup victories and rose in 1959 and 1967 in the GDR league . Günter Kubisch was the shooter of the first major league of Magdeburg in 1960. One of his dreaded free kicks was also the template for the first Magdeburg European Cup goal by Peter Heuer in the game SC Aufbau Magdeburg against Galatasaray Istanbul .

In 1961 he made his first and only appearance in the GDR national team . Furthermore, he played once in his career in the B national team of the GDR as well as 7 times in the U23 and 3 times in the U18 selection.

In 1971 he left the 1st team, but played for two more years in the 2nd team of 1. FC Magdeburg. In addition to his main job in the technology department of the Magdeburg special construction combine, he volunteered to train various teams in the youth division of the FCM. Here he was among other things coach of the later Bundesliga professional Marcel Maltritz . In 1990 he took early retirement and ended his coaching work.

Günter Kubisch died in 2005 of the consequences of a stroke that doctors recognized too late .
