Günter Maibach

Günter Maibach (born November 16, 1953 in Bruchköbel ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and mayor of Bruchköbel since 2008 .

Life

Maibach grew up in Bruchköbel. From 1968 to 1972 he completed an apprenticeship as an electrical engineer at Elektro Becker in Hanau and then worked there from 1972 to 1978 as an electrical engineer. From 1978 to 1979 he attended a master’s preparation course at the training center for electrical engineering in Lauterbach and successfully passed his master’s examination. Maibach worked from 1979 to 1981 as a master electrician in Maintal . In 1981 he founded Elektro Maibach. In 1996 the company EAB-Elektro u. Plant construction, of which he was managing director from 1996 to 2001. In 2006 he sold Elektro Maibach.

From 2001 to 2007 Maibach was a city councilor in the Bruchköbel city council. During this time he worked there from 2001 to 2006 as chairman of the committee for urban development, culture and social affairs, and from 2006 to 2007 as deputy chairman of the committee for building, environment and transport. In the mayoral election on October 28, 2007, he achieved second place with 31% of the vote. In the runoff election that followed on November 11, 2007, he was elected with 56.8% of the vote. On November 10, 2013, he was re-elected with 56.3%.

Maibach is married.
