Günter Roeschmann

Günter Roeschmann (born June 22, 1925 in Berlin ) is a German geologist and soil scientist . Together with Herbert Kuntze and Georg Schwerdtfeger , he wrote the second edition of the book Soil Science (UTB Verlag), which is considered the standard work in German-speaking countries .

Roeschmann studied agriculture at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel and the Universität Weihenstephan . He studied geology in Münster. From 1955 he worked for the Lower Saxony State Office for Soil Research in Hanover. From 1962 to 1987 he held a teaching position for soil science and soil mapping at the University of Münster. In 1971 he became an honorary professor in Münster.

From 1972 to 1982 Roeschmann was vice president and later an honorary member of the German Soil Science Society .
