Günter Thews
Günter Thews (born May 3, 1945 in Celle ; † January 30, 1993 in Berlin ) was a German cabaret artist, member of the 3 Tornados (1977-1989).
Life
Günter Thews was a wholesaler at Edeka, completed his second education with a university entrance qualification, then studied theater and theology at the Free University of Berlin. He obtained his degree in 1978 with Arno Paul with a master's thesis on the Ohnsorg Theater . He worked as an assistant director in Studio Hamburg , worked as an actor in a Tatort (1978) and in Rosa von Praunheim's films Horror Vacui - Die Angst vor der Vleere (1984) and A Virus Knows No Morals (1986). He died of AIDS at the age of 47 and was buried in the Dreifaltigkeitskirchhof II in Berlin-Kreuzberg. On the Ufa site in Berlin-Tempelhof, an in-house street was named after him on his 70th birthday in 2015, the Tornado-Günter-Boulevard .
