Günter Topmann
Günter Topmann (born May 7, 1934 in Bielefeld ) is a German detective and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After attending school, Topmann first completed an apprenticeship as a shoemaker . He joined in 1953 as an official in the police department and later became a detective chief promoted.
Political party
Topmann has been a member of the SPD since 1961.
MP
Topmann was a member of the German Bundestag for two terms from 1976 to 1983 . He entered parliament through a direct mandate, represented the Lüdenscheid constituency from 1976 to 1980 and the Märkischer Kreis II constituency from 1980 to 1983 . He was also a member of the European Parliament for two terms from 1984 to 1994 .
Public offices
Topmann served as honorary mayor of Altena from 1970 to 1999 .
