Günter Weber (politician)

Günter Weber (born December 11, 1935 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German SPD politician .

education and profession

After attending secondary school and technical schools, Günter Weber completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter in 1951 . After that he worked as a clerk in the development department at Siemens / KWU turbo generator manufacturing until 1995 .

politics

Günter Weber has been a member of the SPD since 1956. Furthermore, he is the local association chairman and shop steward of IG Metall as well as a member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , the Naturfreunde and the association “Help for Women”.

Until June 1990 he was a city councilor in the city council of Mülheim and there, among other things, mayor.

He is deputy chairman of the administrative board of Sparkasse Mülheim an der Ruhr , chairman of the supervisory board of social housing Mülheim and a member of the supervisory boards of the Rhein-Ruhr urban railway company and the urban railway management company.

Günter Weber was a directly elected member of the 11th and 12th North Rhine-Westphalian Landtag for constituency 073 Mülheim I from May 31, 1990 to June 1, 2000 .
