Günther Steinkamp
Günther Steinkamp (born April 3, 1935 in Coesfeld ) is a German sociologist and emeritus professor of sociology and social education .
Life
Steinkamp studied economics , sociology, social psychology and social policy at the Universities of Cologne, Munich and Freiburg. In Cologne he graduated in 1959 as a graduate in business administration and was in 1962 when René King to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . He then worked as a research assistant at the social research center at the University of Münster , based in Dortmund , as a research assistant at the Hamburg Academy for Economics and Politics, and as a research assistant, academic adviser and senior academic adviser at the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg . In 1971 he obtained the Venia Legendi at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe and became full professor for sociology and social education at its Bielefeld location . In 1980 he accepted a professorship for sociology and social pedagogy at Bielefeld University . His work focuses on social epidemiology and social gerontology .
