Vadollano freight yard

Estacion de Vadollano is a marshalling yard and transshipment station of the Spanish railway infrastructure administration Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias for freight traffic in the province of Jaén in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain .

Estacion de Vadollano was built in the 1860s and was equipped with a greater number of siding and loading siding with ramps. The former official name was Estación para Trenes de Carga de Vadollano and Estación de clasificación .

Next to the signal box is a turntable for turning rail vehicles with a broad gauge of 1668 mm as well as several locomotive sheds with a railway repair shop. The station with the ADIF number 50209 is located at kilometer 306.1 of the ADIF line 400 from Seville - Alcázar de San Juan - Cádiz between the Linares train station and Baeza in the municipality of Linares , in the Sierra Morena region.

Over the years, some facilities, loading ramps and buildings have been dismantled and renewed; the signal box and the newly laid sidings are still there today.
