GES was a band founded in Cottbus in 1978 that mainly played pop music and hits .
Band history
GES was founded in 1978. Singer Eberhard Henn came from the amateur band Centrum . In 1980, GES took second place in the Goldener Rathausmann competition in Dresden . From 1980 pieces by GES were produced by GDR television. From then on the band gave guest appearances in numerous countries. In 1986 the band released their first LP, which was quite successful. Arndt Bause was the composer and arranger . In 1988 a second LP was released, on which six medleys of western hits and a self-composed medley were included. The band broke up in 1992. Henn now heads the Henn Music Promotion company in Berlin . Susann Burkhard married Siegbert Himpel. The couple runs a music studio in Kolkwitz near Cottbus (as of 2010).
