The GASTRO-Liga eV is a German organization for combating diseases of the stomach, intestines and liver as well as metabolic and nutritional disorders. The chairman of the association is the internist and gastroenterologist Tilman Sauerbruch from Bonn .
Association
Doctors, patients, representatives from politics and business have come together in the association to combat diseases of the digestive organs and to have a preventive effect.
Publications
From 1985 the association published the "Gastro-Liga-Report" every quarter. He is the editor of specialist publications:

Ludwig Demling Media Prize
Since 1999 the association has awarded the Ludwig Demling Media Prize, named after the Erlangen gastroenterologist Ludwig Demling . The prize, which is endowed with 5,000 euros, honors work that "reports on gastroenterological diseases and their prevention in a scientifically correct and at the same time vivid manner or contributes to a fundamental understanding of digestive processes or metabolism and nutrition".
