The Schulenburg in Itzehoe was a court (lat. Curia ... Sculenborch ) of the aristocratic family Schulenburg ( nd. Schulenborch ), first mentioned in documents in 1335 .

The courtyard was located south of Itzehoe Castle on Störinsel , but neither belonged to the castle district in which castle law was valid, nor to the municipal area that was under city jurisdiction. As a result, there were repeated problems in the prosecution of crimes. In 1358 the town council of Itzehoe was able to acquire the farm, which brought it under town jurisdiction.

The courtyard is not to be confused with the Helle-Hof located northeast of the Störinsel, which belonged to the knight Johannes Schulenburg in the 14th century. This was also not subject to city jurisdiction. When the Itzehoe Monastery acquired the Helle-Hof from Johannes Schulenburg in 1368, it also acquired its own jurisdiction.

To the south of the Störinsel in the direction of Münsterdorfer Geestinsel there was also a farm with a lot of arable land, which was called “To der Schulenborch”. In 1427 several council members bought the farm from the squire Dietrich Höken. The documentary mentions from the 16th century ("... achker uppe der Schulenborch ..." and "... achte stucke Geistlandes uffn Kuelenkampe in the Schulenborch ...") seem to refer to these lands.

Today “Schulenburg” is only the name of a street in Itzehoe at the foot of the Münsterdorfer Geestinsel and the name of the area around it.
