GIGA Journal Family
The GIGA Journal Family is a series of publications by the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg. It comprises the social science journals Africa Spectrum , Journal of Current Chinese Affairs , Journal of Politics in Latin America and Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs . The journals offer experts and interested parties from science, politics, business, administration and the media in-depth scientific analyzes on Africa , China , Latin America and Southeast Asia .

The GIGA Journal Family was funded as an Open Access pilot project by the German Research Foundation DFG. At the beginning of 2009, the established academic journals were transferred to Open Access journals and have since been accessible online free of charge worldwide. The magazines will also be continued as print versions. The scientific papers of all journals of the GIGA Journal Family is ahead of its release a double anonymous peer review process ( peer review subject) to ensure the quality of the contributions.
