GIGA real was a news program for young people that started broadcasting on March 25, 2004. The program produced by GIGA Produktion GmbH was broadcast on NBC Europe and later on GIGA TV .
In the program, politics and world news were vividly presented to a young audience. GIGA real's studio was located on Pariser Platz in the German capital, Berlin . This was located in such a way that the audience could always have a look at the Brandenburg Gate. The program GIGA was later broadcast from the secondary studio . In addition to the latest news, every issue of GIGA real also included a studio guest whom the GIGA community could ask questions via email, chat or SMS.
Emergence
In response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 , the iNews area, later the update area, was set up in the GIGA program and, due to the great interest of the community , it was expanded further, which finally resulted in a separate program in 2004.
Moderation
The show was directed by two moderators. Initially moderated by Jochen Dominicus and Christoph Rieth, other moderators were added later. These were Vanessa Dreckmann, Alexandra Tapprogge and Matthias Killing , Dirk Finger and Hans-Georg "Hansi" Throm.
Charisma
Initially, GIGA real broadcast daily from 8:00 p.m. and lasted thirty minutes. About a year after it started broadcasting on March 7, 2005, the broadcast time was extended to 60 minutes. When GIGA TV started broadcasting on Astra Digital , the broadcast time changed again. The now one-hour program could be received from 4:00 p.m. following the GIGA broadcast from Berlin. The repeat of the 4:00 p.m. edition was then broadcast at the previously normal broadcast time. In order to make GIGA real accessible to cable users again, the transmission time was halved to 30 minutes, starting at 3:30 p.m. This meant that GIGA was actually in GIGA's broadcast window for the newly founded station Das Vierte . The last GIGA real program was broadcast on March 30, 2006. The last GIGA broadcast took place one day later.
