GINChUK
The GINChUK , also called the State Institute for Artistic Culture ( Russian Гинхук - Государственный институт художественной культуры ) was an art institute in Leningrad , which was established in the post-revolutionary Russia until the end of 1926 from the museum in Leningrad . It is the successor to the INChUK .
A number of Russian artists of the Russian avant-garde belonged to the institution:
- Kazimir Malevich was director of GINChUK until its dissolution towards the end of 1926
- Mikhail Matyushin headed the scientific research department for organic culture
- Nikolai Michailowitsch Suetin took part in the artistic research work and assisted Malevich with his architectons and planets
- Konstantin Ivanovich Roschdestwensky was an intern at Malevich
- Ilya Grigoryevich Tschaschnik was a research assistant for Malevich
- Vera Yermolayeva was the head of the color laboratory
- Pavel Nikolayevich Filonov was the head of general ideology
- Lev Yudin investigated the laws of cubism as head of the form laboratory.
