List of geostationary satellites

GSAT-12 is a commercial communications satellite owned by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

It was brought into geostationary orbit on July 15, 2011 at 11:18 UTC from launch site 2 of the Satish Dhawan Space Center with an Indian PSLV-XL rocket and is intended to replace Insat-3B . The satellite was separated from the rocket 1225 seconds after launch and launched in a 284 × 21,000 km transition orbit with 17.9 ° inclination. The satellite's apogee motor then took care of raising the trajectory to its final geostationary orbit.

The satellite is equipped with twelve C-band - transponders equipped and is on the position of 83 degrees East with Insat-2E and INSAT-4A provide India with telecommunications services. Communication takes place via two antennas with a size of 0.7 and 1.2 m. For three-axis stabilization, the satellite is equipped with earth and sun sensors , magnetic torquers , reaction wheels and eight 10 N and eight 22 N engines. It was built on the basis of the ISRO I1K satellite bus and has a planned service life of seven years.
