The GTI Travel GmbH (short for German Travel International ) was a German tourism company headquartered in Dusseldorf . Together with the Buchmal Reisen brand, it was one of the ten largest tour operators in Germany and was a subsidiary of the Turkish Kayi Group .

Companies

The GmbH was a subsidiary of the Turkish family holding Kayi Group with headquarters in Antalya and was founded in 1994. The tour operator DTI in the Netherlands and GTI in Poland , its own incoming agency Kayitur in Antalya and the airline Sky Airlines also belonged to this company with around 4,000 employees . In recent years, the focus has been on the Russian travel market.

In Turkey, the Kayi Group was mainly active in the upper quality segment of the national category with its own and rented hotels under the name Riva before these hotels were sold in 2008 and 2009. The luxury design hotel Adam & Eve in Belek was also sold at the end of 2012 .

At the beginning of June 2013 it was reported that the Kayi Group had filed for bankruptcy. On June 2, 2013, GTI and Buchmal Reisen also filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations with immediate effect. The sister company Sky Airlines , which operated numerous flights for GTI, also ceased operations.
