G 196-3 is a red dwarf with an apparent magnitude of 11.8 mag in the constellation Great Bear . In 1998, Rebolo et al. a substellares object (probably a brown dwarf ) of spectral class L2, which is very probably gravitationally bound to that star and with G 196-3 B is called. Its mass is roughly estimated to be in the region of 25 Jupiter's masses . The angular distance between the two objects is 16 "with a position angle of 209 °.
