Gabriel Lucio Argüelles

Gabriel María Gregorio del Carmen Lucio Argüelles (* 1899 in Nautla in the state of Veracruz ; † 1981 ) was a Mexican teacher and ambassador .

Life

He practiced the profession of teacher at various schools and was director of the Escuela Normal Veracruzana in 1927. Argüelles wrote a series of textbooks and edited several books on the history of education in Mexico. From August 9, 1951 to October 16, 1956, he was the representative of the Mexican government at the Organization of American States (OAS). Between August 20, 1959 and July 27, 1961, he was the Mexican ambassador in Bern , then from October 6, 1961 to November 15, 1964 in Moscow .
