Career

The 1.84 meter tall defensive player Gabriel Marques was in the ranks of the Uruguayan first division team River Plate Montevideo in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons . There he completed 26 (two goals) in 2009/10 and twelve games (no goal) in 2010/11 in the Primera División . He was also set up twice (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana . In January 2011 he was loaned to league rivals Nacional Montevideo . There he contributed in the Clausura with ten first division games to win the Uruguayan national championship title. He also appeared in five Copa Libertadores matches . In the Apertura 2011 five more premier league appearances followed. However, as a player of the "Bolsos" he did not manage to score a competitive goal. In early January 2012, he initially returned to River Plate Montevideo. In mid-March 2012, he moved to Athletico Paranaense on loan to his home country without playing any further competitive matches for the Montevideans . The statistics show him 16 league games (one goal) - seven (no goal) in Paranaense 1 and nine (one goal) in Serie B - as well as four games (no goal) in the Copa do Brasil . At the beginning of the year it belonged to River Plate Montevideo for a few days again, followed by another rental station in Brazil from mid-January 2013.
