Gabriel Mato Adrover (born April 29, 1961 in Madrid ) is a Spanish politician ( PP ).

Mato Adrover graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with a law degree . He began as an associate judge at the district court of Santa Cruz de La Palma and as legal advisor to the island parliament of La Palma . Since 1995 he has also been an international tennis referee and is a member of the Canarian Committee for Sports Discipline.

From 2001 to 2004 Mato Adrover was chairman of the PP of La Palma, afterwards he was deputy general secretary in the Canary Islands until 2007 . Since 2000 he has been a member of the national board of the PP. From 1991 to 1995 he was Deputy Mayor of Santa Cruz de La Palma. For several years he was a member of the regional parliament of the Canary Islands and there for some time chairman of the PP group. From 1997 to 2000 he was Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Food for the local government. Later he was a member and second secretary of the Spanish Congress of Deputies. From 2009 to 2019, Mato Adrover was a member of the European Parliament , in which he was chairman of the Committee on Fisheries from 2012 to 2014 .

Mato Adrover has been awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit. His sister, Ana Mato Adrover , is also politically active.
