Gabriela Mihalcea

Gabriela Mihalcea (born January 27, 1964 ) is a former Romanian pole vaulter .

She was a high jumper first. After a positive doping test , she was banned for two years in 1987. When pole vault was also approved for women in the 1990s, she changed discipline. At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1996 she won bronze and at the 1998 European Athletics Championships she was fifth. She also took part in the 1997 World Indoor Athletics Championships and the 1999 World Indoor Athletics Championships .
