Gabriela Mrohs-Czerkawski

Gabriela Mrohs-Czerkawski (Polish Gabriela Mróz-Czerkawska ) (born February 6, 1969 in Strzelce Opolskie ) is a former Polish basketball player .

career

Mrohs-Czerkawski played in Poland from 1985 to 1993 for Odra Brzeg, from 1993 the 1.85 meter long wing and inside player for the German Bundesliga club VfL Bochum . With Bochum, she temporarily competed in the European club competition Ronchetti Cup . In the 2000/01 season she played again in her home country Poland for Odra Brzeg, followed by the return to Germany in the run-up to the 2001/02 game year, where she ran from now on for BG Rentrop Bonn in the Bundesliga. She stayed with BG until 2004 and then took a break from basketball due to pregnancy. From January 2007 she was a player in the second division Herner TC and a few months later rose to the Bundesliga with HTC. In the 2007/08 season she was also in the top division for the HTC on the field.

After the end of her playing career, Mrohs-Czerkawski worked as a trainer at Herner TC II and in the youth division of the Herner club. In 2010 she became a trainer in the youth and women division of the ASC Dortmund .

In the senior division, Mrohs-Czerkawski played for SG ASC 09 Dortmund / AstroStars Bochum and was German champion in the over 40 age group. Her daughter Saskia Czerkawski, like her mother, made her way into competitive basketball.

National team

Mrohs-Czerkawski was a Polish national player, she took part in the European Championships in 1991, 1993, 2001 and 2003. Her best placement with Poland in 2003 was fourth.
