Gabriele Böhning (born June 20, 1948 in Borgholzhausen ) is a German author specializing in poetry.

Life

Growing up in Borgholzhausen , she completed an apprenticeship as a pharmacist in Bielefeld from 1962 . From 1965 she was a member of the opera choir (extra choir) of the Städtische Bühnen Bielefeld. In 1968 she moved to Hofheim am Taunus . From 1984 she worked as a freelancer for the Hofheimer Zeitung in the field of art and culture. In 1987 she was commissioned by the city of Hofheim to collect eyewitness reports about the painter Hanna Bekker vom Rath and the Blue House. She has been working as a freelance writer since 1995 and holds readings across Germany, including a. 2001 at the "Freudenstädter Lyriktage", 1995 at the Frankfurt Book Fair, 2004 in Goethehaus in Weimar, 2006 at the "Kurpfälzer Lyriktage" in Schwetzingen, 2007 Mainzer Kulturtelefon. Since 2007 she has been organizing author readings in the Hofheim area with special support for young authors.

She is a member of the Free German Association of Authors.
