Gabriele Hessel

Gabriele Hessel (born May 9, 1959 ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

After completing her legal training, Gabriele Hessel initially worked as a research assistant at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . There she was awarded a doctorate in 1989 with an investigation into Albert A. Ehrenzweig's teachings on conflict of laws. iur. PhD. In 1988, Hessel entered the higher judicial service of the state of Schleswig-Holstein , where she was appointed judge at the district court of Ahrensburg in 1994. In the following years, Hessel was delegated to the secretariat of the committee for election review, immunity and rules of procedure of the German Bundestag , to the Federal Ministry of Justice and to the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court. In 2002 she was promoted to presiding judge at the Lübeck Regional Court .

On September 6, 2006, Hessel was finally appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice, where she was assigned to the 8th Civil Senate responsible for sales law, housing rental law and leasing law .
