Gabriele Thiersch

Gabriele Thiersch (* 1920 in Hof an der Saale ; † 2000 in Munich ) was a German painter .

Life

In 1936 the Thiersch family moved to Munich-Nymphenburg. In 1938 Gabriele Thiersch first went to the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich and in 1939 to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich ; she studied with Adolf Schinnerer and in the master class with Julius Hess . After the Munich Art Academy was destroyed by a bomb attack, Gabriele Thiersch finished her training and went to Alsace in 1944 . 1956 followed a three-month stay in Spain: afterwards she worked as a freelancer.

Thiersch worked on mosaics by Karl Knappe in 1946 . In 1963 she designed and carried out the facade design of the school and dormitory of the Don Bosco sisters in Rottenbuch as well as interior decoration.
