Gaetano Agazzi

Gaetano (de Bergame) Agazzi, also Gajetan Agazzi, (* around 1730 , † after 1800 ) was an Italian cellist and composer .

Life

Gaetano Agazzi was born around 1730. He grew up in Milan and was trained as a cellist. As a traveling virtuoso, he probably came to Amsterdam in the 1770s , where his Opus 1 was also published. On December 17th, 1776 he gave his first concert in 't Wapen van Amsterdam . From 1795 to 1800 he played in the orchestra of the Societé Felix Meritis in Amsterdam. In 1798 he performed a sonata for four violoncellos with the cellists Helken, Calmus and Meyer. In 1777 he became a member of the La Bien Aimée lodge in Amsterdam.
