Melanie Schmitz (born 1994 or 1995 ) is a right-wing extremist activist. According to media reports, it is monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution .

Life

Melanie Schmitz is a trained designer ( GTA ). She also studied communication science . Schmitz lives in Berlin and is active in “ Kontrakultur Halle ”, a regional offshoot of the Identitarian Movement . The head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Saxony-Anhalt describes the Halle group as a “trendsetter for the identity movement throughout Germany”. She is also a member of the women's association “Atrytone Assindia zu Essen”. According to Zeit journalists Christian Fuchs and Paul Middelhoff , she is one of the most prominent political activists of the Identitarians. In 2017, the Spiegel called Schmitz “the poster girl of the new right”.

Schmitz appears at rallies for the New Right and uses its own social media channels accordingly . She became popular through her Instagram account, where, in addition to harmless pictures, she repeatedly makes political statements and, for example, can be photographed in “ Good Night Left Side ” T-shirts or under a flag from CasaPound . In addition to Instagram, she also uses YouTube , where she sings songs about “ remigration ”, among other things . She is also involved in the IB-related initiative One Percent . For the video for Counterculture Eastside , she worked with the identity rapper plot. Together with him and rapper Chris Ares , she performed at the first festival of identities in downtown Dresden, which brought together up to 500 rights from the identity movement. There she played solo some of the songs of her chanson duo Varieté Identitaire , which she formed with Till-Lucas Wessels . The group also appeared at the AfD election party in September 2016 in Schwerin with a right cover version of Jennifer Rostock's Wähl die AfD .
