The AFD Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state association of the party Alternative for Germany . The regional association is led by Leif-Erik Holm and Hagen Brauer as regional chairmen. With Holm as the top candidate, the state party ran for the first time in the state elections in 2016 and entered the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as the second largest group after the SPD ; after leaving it is the third largest parliamentary group. As state and parliamentary group chairman, Leif-Erik Holm also ran as the state party's top candidate for the 2017 federal election .
history
The Mecklenburg- Western Pomerania regional association was founded on April 21, 2013 in Güstrow . Andreas Kuessner, Leif-Erik Holm and Steffen Wandschneider were elected as spokespersons for the state executive. After almost a year, a new state executive was elected at the beginning of February 2014. The previous speakers were replaced by Holger Arppe and Matthias Manthei . At the end of November 2014, Arppe no longer ran for the board elections. At the state party conference on November 29, 2014, Leif-Erik Holm and Matthias Manthei were elected to head the state board.
At the state party conference in Güstrow 2015, alongside Holm and Manthei, Arppe and Schwerin city councilor Petra Federau ran for the top of the board. Both were subject to a fight vote. The former state chairman Arppe was elected as an assessor in the state board.
In February 2016, the party decided on its state list for the state elections in 2016 . Petra Federau received 3rd place on the list. After Federau had not complied with the requests of the AfD state and district association to declare herself to be a temporary activity for an escort service with customers in the Arab region , she was at an extraordinary party conference in June 2016 deleted from the list. As a direct candidate in the Schwerin II state electoral district , she received 19.8% of the first votes. In November 2016, the members re-elected the state executive at a party congress in Gägelow. Leif-Erik Holm was confirmed as state spokesman. Bernhard Wildt prevailed over Enrico Komning in the election for the national spokesman with equal rights .
In the 7th electoral period, at the request of the AfD, a committee of inquiry was set up on January 26, 2017 , "to determine the funding structure, the funding process and the granting practice for grants from state funds as well as the use of these state funds by the LIGA, the umbrella organization for independent welfare organizations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern eV´, the central associations in the period from 2010 to 2016 ”. The background was suspicion and reports that there should have been corruption and mismanagement at the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The previous co-spokesman Matthias Manthei no longer stood for election and left the AfD parliamentary group on September 25, 2017 together with Bernhard Wildt, Ralf Borschke and Christel Weißig and later founded the “Citizens' parliamentary group for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (BMV)” the party citizens for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
On July 5, 2019, Holms co-chair Dennis Augustin was expelled from the party. In October 2019 Ralf Borschke rejoined the AfD parliamentary group.
politics
The regional association ran for the first time in the state elections in 2016 and received 20.8% of the votes. In its election program adopted at the beginning of 2016, the AfD Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania spoke out in favor of strengthening families in the form of extending parental allowance and reintroducing a family loan. According to the party, free daycare places are to be offered, more teachers are to be recruited, special needs schools are to be maintained and the introduction of uniform school clothing made possible. To reduce crime, the party wants to improve the staff and equipment of the police and reintroduce border controls. In the asylum policy, according to the party program, the number of safe countries of origin should be expanded and rejected asylum seekers deported more quickly. In addition, the AfD rejects the time change and the contribution service of ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio and advocates free shop opening times.
organization
The party organs of the state association are the state party congress, the state election assembly, the state executive committee and the state arbitration tribunal. The regional arbitration tribunal decides on internal party disputes and can expel members. The regional office is located in Neubrandenburg .
State party conference
The highest party organ is the state party congress . It elects the state board , the auditors and the state arbitration court. The state party congress takes place as a general assembly. If the number of party members exceeds 1,000, the state party congress does not take place as a general assembly, but as an assembly of delegates. The district associations each send a delegate for five members.
