Exclusion from party

At the end of June 2019, the Nordkurier reported that Augustin had taken part in an internal party training course of the NPD in northern Italy in Iseo in 1989 , and published photos from the NPD party newspaper "German Voice". The newspaper cited NPD sources and witnesses, according to which this cadre forge was only accessible to "political youngsters of the party" and concluded that Augustin must have been a member of the NPD or a member of the NPD youth organization.

The board of directors of the AfD state association in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania then declared Augustin's party membership to be ineffective because he had concealed his NPD contacts when he joined the AfD. From a legal point of view, this was not an exclusion from the party, but a cancellation of membership. Augustin appealed against this decision of the state executive. However, the responsible regional arbitration court of the AfD confirmed the cancellation in the first instance. The Federal Arbitration Court of the AfD confirmed this decision on June 23, 2020. Augustin failed before the Berlin Regional Court on July 27, 2020 with an urgent application for an injunction against the cancellation.
