The AfD Saarland is the Saarland regional association of the Alternative for Germany party (AfD). The regional association was led by Josef Dörr as regional chairman until it was dismissed . On March 31, 2020, the AfD federal board deposed the entire board and an emergency board consisting of Carsten Hütter , Joachim Paul and Stephan Protschka .
history
The AfD Saarland was founded in June 2013. Johannes Trampert was elected the first state chairman. At a state party conference in Dudweiler in 2015, Trampert was defeated in a vote against Josef Dörr , whereupon several leading members resigned from their party offices.
The party's federal executive board decided at the end of March 2016 to dissolve the state association for “serious violations of the party's political objectives and internal order”. The previous state executive looked for contacts with people and groups on the far right. The regional association denied the allegations and appealed to the federal arbitration tribunal, which initially suspended the decision. At a state party conference in Völklingen , the party leadership was then confirmed in office. At the end of April, the party's national congress in Stuttgart decided with 995 against 806 votes to dissolve the state association. The federal arbitration court finally rejected the application at the end of October 2016. A dissolution of the regional association is disproportionate. As a result, the federal spokesmen Frauke Petry and Jörg Meuthen called on the state association not to participate in the 2017 state election. The regional association nevertheless took part in the election and federal spokeswoman Petry was then pleased "despite all the differences" about their entry into the Saarland state parliament.
On November 21, 2019, an internal report confirmed that the party executive of the AfD Saarland was responsible for election manipulations and violations of the party law. A total of 14 individual points can be adequately proven. The removal of the entire state executive from office is therefore appropriate.
On March 31, 2020, the AfD federal board deposed the entire board of the Saar-AfD due to serious violations of the principles or order of the party , an emergency board was set up, which consists of the federal board members Carsten Hütter , Joachim Paul and Stephan Protschka . The deposed chairman Dörr described the allegations as absolutely crazy .

Parliamentary group
Since the state elections in 2017, the AfD has been represented in parliamentary groups in the Saarland state parliament. Members of the AfD in the 16th electoral term of the state parliament are: Rudolf Müller (deputy parliamentary group leader), Josef Dörr ( parliamentary group chairman ) and Lutz Hecker ( parliamentary manager ). In July 2020, the parliamentary group ruled Hecker out because of the "severely broken relationship of trust between the parliamentary group and Hecker".
In 2017, the former press officer accused the AfD parliamentary group of bullying and sexual harassment . In a quality hearing before the Saarbrücken Labor Court on November 14, 2017, no agreement was reached; the lawyer for the AfD parliamentary group wrote to the court that all allegations were "allegations", "fictitious and untruthful".

Regional group RLP / Saarland in the German Bundestag
The state list for the 2017 federal election was initially drawn up at a party congress on April 2, 2017 in Sulzbach . At the delegate convention, Michel Dörr, the son of state chairman Josef Dörr, prevailed in a vote against the Saarbrücken lawyer Christian Wirth. After a successful complaint by the district chairman in St. Wendel , Edgar Huber, against the election of the state list before the regional court , the state executive appealed and at the same time held another party congress on July 2, 2017 in Sulzbach to elect a second state list. This time, in contrast to the previous party congress, all members were allowed to take part, as according to the judgment of the regional court, the state list according to the federal electoral law did not have to be drawn up by the delegates of the state party congress, but by delegates specially elected for an electoral assembly. Due to time constraints, no delegates could be elected, so that all members present decided on the state list. This time Christian Wirth prevailed against Michel Dörr in the fight vote. The higher regional court rejected the appeal of the regional executive committee, so that the ruling of the regional court was final and the second state list was submitted to the federal election control .
The state party moved into the 19th German Bundestag with the top candidate Christian Wirth , which together with the drafted candidates from the AfD Rhineland-Palatinate formed a joint " regional group RLP / Saarland".
